1st day : the American sectors (Utah and Omaha)

  • Sainte-Mère-Église : iconic Airborne town and paratrooper stories. American Airborne Museum.
  • La Fière Bridge : crucial link between Airborne and beach troops.
  • Omaha beach : the hardest-fought landing; overview of German defences and U.S. assault.

2d day : the Commonwealth sectors (Gold, Juno and Sword)

  • Ranville Cemetery : first liberated village, resting place of the 6th Airborne Division.
  • Merville Battery : pre-dawn Airborne assault site with preserved bunkers.
  • Pegasus bridge : symbol of the first Allied victory on D-Day.
  • Hillman (WN17) : former German command post taken by the Suffolk Regiment.
  • Juno beach : complete visit of the Canadian landings.
  • Gold beach : British sector and remains of the Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches.
  • Longues-sur-Mer : preserved German artillery site overlooking the Channel.
